On February 28, San Carlos University launched a major initiative to promote social innovation and circular economy with the opening of the COLL (Collaborative Labs) office. This space is dedicated to sustainable waste management and social inclusion.
The circular economy project aims to improve waste management in the six municipalities of the Mancomunidad de Cordillerita, turning an environmental challenge into a development opportunity for the region. At the same time, the university is supporting small producers in the Cordillera department through an initiative to cultivate 800 hectares of crops for the international market. San Carlos University will provide training to ensure compliance with global quality standards.
With an integrated approach involving institutions, businesses, and the community, the university strengthens its role as a key player in the region’s sustainable development and social inclusion.
