Circular economy, innovation and community: the Prato case at the center of the webinar with the University of Florence
On April 14, 2025, the Circular Opportunities workshop was held at the UNI Postgraduate Faculty Auditorium in Paraguay, as part of the HEADCET project. The event was also livestreamed and featured Dr. Leonardo Borsacchi, an expert in circular economy and urban regeneration from the University of Florence.
The webinar focused on key issues related to circular economy and social innovation, with particular attention to the case of the Prato textile district. Dr. Borsacchi presented practices involving material regeneration, enhancement of local skills, and the integration of traditional knowledge with modern technologies.
Through interactive workshops and discussions, participants explored major challenges and concrete solutions for a sustainable transition. The initiative also helped create new networks and collaboration opportunities, showing how the circular economy can serve as a powerful tool to strengthen communities and local development.
